Famed Director Adam McKay Presents "Music in Action" Series to Benefit JAIL GUITAR DOORS Prison Charity and MOVE TO AMEND Coalition Hosted via Web Site

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 3, 2012) - has announced the launch of a series of concerts aptly named 'Music in Action.' The live shows will focus on using music to affect change, gain exposure and raise money for like-minded non-profits and charities. The inaugural show will benefit Jail Guitar Doors, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides musical instruments and opportunities to help rehabilitate inmates doing time within the US prison system.

The first show will be at the Echoplex on Thursday, July 12th, 2012. Wayne Kramer, co-founder of Jail Guitar Doors, and Adam McKay, co-creator of and creative force behind FunnyOrDie, are heading up the project. "Music and activism have always gone hand in hand from Woody Guthrie to the Clash to Rage Against the Machine. With, we're hoping to provide some of the background score for a new age of civic involvement. Plus, it's fun as hell and the tunes rock."

According to Wayne Kramer, "Adam McKay and his wife Shira Piven were JGD's first board members and the first to step up to support justice reform. They are themselves artists and activists and they understand that there is a connection between our shared missions: A message of education, action and expression for social change. Now, let's make some noise together."

Jail Guitar Doors is a California 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides musical instruments and opportunities to help rehabilitate prisoners. In 1977, punk rock pioneers The Clash recorded "Jail Guitar Doors," a song detailing the imprisonment of their hero and fellow musician, Wayne Kramer. In 2009, musician/activists Wayne Kramer and Billy Bragg joined forces to create JGD-USA. JGD-USA organizes prison outreach programs; advances new solutions to diminish prison violence; partners with social service groups to help people in prison reconnect with the outside world and works for justice and prison reform. About Wayne Kramer & Adam McKay
Wayne Kramer is one of the world's stellar guitarists and a composer for feature films and television series. As teenaged founder of Detroit's incendiary MC5, Wayne formed the White Panther Party in the 1960s in solidarity with organizations working for racial equality during the Vietnam War. His friendship with British songwriter Billy Bragg inspired the two men to create Jail Guitar Doors USA.

Adam McKay is nearly as recognized for his candid political forthrightness as he is for his comedy masterpieces Talladega Nights, Anchorman, SNL, Step Bros and The Landlord with partner Will Ferrell. Adam is one of the founding members of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv comedy group and director/co-writer of the acclaimed George W. Bush Broadway show, You're Welcome America.
