Far West Mining Ltd. Announces Change in Phase II Drilling Program in the Santo Domingo Sur Area in Chile

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 16, 2005) - Far West Mining Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:FWM) wishes to inform its shareholders that, due to a drilling problem, it is unable to complete the entire Phase II drilling program planned for the Santo Domingo Sur Area.

Eleven of the fifteen holes to be drilled during the Phase II program have been completed and the assay results for these holes are expected to be available by the end of the month. The four holes from the Phase II program that remain to be drilled are to be added to the next program (Phase III) which we anticipate will commence by mid October.

During a drill move on the morning of September 14th the rig tilted on its side and was rendered inoperable (there were no injuries). A preliminary estimate of the damage indicates that it will take from two to three weeks to repair the drill. There is no replacement rig available at this time.
