Fares Get Fairer on Grand Central

The Rail Route to Regular Savings

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - Fares Are Getting Fairer with Grand Central - the new train company linking the Durham Coast, Teesside and North Yorkshire with London. New summer prices start on May 18th bringing many off peak savings and giving frequent Business travellers the opportunity to save over 15% on peak fares!

No Gimmicks, No Supplements. Just Straightforward Prices Whenever You Book - Whenever You Travel

Grand Central has removed confusion about its Peak Time Supplement by introducing a simple to understand Two Tier fare structure which offers constant good value. There's no increases on the Peak Fares which cost broadly as now, whilst the new Off Peak Fares offer significant savings for those who have the flexibility to plan their journeys and avoid the 0641 Sunderland to London and 1650 London to Sunderland trains (weekdays). And remember even Peak Standard class prices to London with Grand Central are under Pounds Sterling 100 Return, as are 1st class off-peak returns.

For those seeking a day trip to say York, Thirsk for the Races, or Hartlepool or Sunderland for the Museums, Grand Central's "Any Time" local fares are really remarkably good value too.

Premium Savings for Regular Travellers

Frequent Peak Time travellers can make great savings with Grand Central's new Carnet Ticket Book of 20 single journey/10 return journey tickets for turn-up-and-go-travel. Carnet tickets are valid on peak time trains but save 15% - 30% on published Grand Central prices. Carnet tickets are valid on any Grand Central train between the station of your choice and London Kings Cross (or vice versa). Go when you like and save every time.

If you have a Railcard Stretch Your Budget Further

Railcard holders can now benefit from further savings on Grand Central Off Peak fares with 33% off ticket prices. Book in advance or 'turn up and go' and save every time.
