FarleyRiggs and WellDog Establish New Company Dedicated to Providing Key Technical Services to Australian CBM Customers

ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA and LARAMIE, WY--(Marketwire - March 16, 2010) -  FarleyRiggs Ltd. and WellDog announced today that they have accelerated their collaboration and established a new company, WellDog Australia Pty. Ltd., to provide WellDog's award-winning coalbed methane reservoir testing technical services to the Australian coalbed methane industry.

"Based on the results of our joint meetings with Australian CBM companies last month, it became clear that our technology can significantly help those companies accelerate their gas production and reduce their costs and environmental impacts," said John M. Pope, Ph.D., President and CEO of WellDog. "It is obvious to us that moving into the Australian market is important to WellDog. After working with FarleyRiggs during the initial market investigations and learning first-hand their honest approach to business and dedication to customer service, we believe that FarleyRiggs is the appropriate partner for us."

WellDog's services have been used widely by North American producers to characterize accurately and completely potential CBM reserves.

"FarleyRiggs is committed to providing best-in-class technical services to our customers," said Christopher Riggs, Managing Director of FarleyRiggs. "WellDog's services clearly fall into that category. Through this partnership, we're taking another step toward becoming an integrated services provider to the Australian CBM industry."

The joint venture, WellDog Australia Pty. Ltd. (WDA), is an Australian registered company that will own and use a full complement of WellDog's proprietary tools, intellectual property, and technical service infrastructure. Initial work by WDA will be performed by WellDog's experienced North American field crews while Australian technical staff are trained.

The Australian oil and gas industry is currently undertaking the world's largest coalbed methane development in order to fulfill its commitment to providing natural gas for numerous liquid natural gas (LNG) export stations now under construction or investment decision.

Coalbed methane is natural gas trapped in coal seams. Conventional oilfield services are not able to measure the heterogeneous distribution of natural gas in coal seams. WellDog's technology was developed to solve that problem.

FarleyRiggs Ltd is an Australian oilfield service provider dedicated to delivering innovative, cost effective, best-in-class solutions to oil and gas companies around the world. Our core business involves delivery of Drill Stem Testing, Surface Well Testing and Data Acquisition Services. More information is available on the web at

WellDog (trade name of Gas Sensing Technology Corp.) is a privately held company that uses innovative technologies to evaluate in situ the geochemistry and geophysics of unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs, resulting in increased gas production as well as reduced costs and environmental impact for clients. Ten years ago, the principals of WellDog began using Raman spectroscopy to create a tool capable of measuring gas content in coalbed reservoirs. Along the way, they pioneered advances in spectrometer miniaturization, harsh environment sensing, coalbed reservoir simulation, and coalbed reservoir geochemistry.
