Farmacias de Similares Utilizes Iveda Solutions' Cloud Video Hosting

MESA, AZ--(Marketwire - Oct 30, 2012) - Iveda Solutions (OTCBB: IVDA) announced today that Farmacias de Similares will utilize the Company's cloud video hosting services for security, operational, and sales purposes at Similares' retail pharmacies in Mexico. 

Similares, headquartered in Mexico City, owns and operates pharmacies and discount drugstore chains offering generic drugs in Mexico, Guatemala, and Chile. Additionally, it offers doctor consultation and laboratory services.

The initial deployment involves ten out of more than four thousand Similares retail stores in Mexico. Each store will have one stationary and one PTZ (pan tilt zoom) camera which will be hosted in the cloud, utilizing IvedaXpress service. The initial deployment process is underway with plans to deploy to other stores throughout the country.

Each individual Similares store owner will have secure, remote access to live and recorded video through the IvedaXpress online portal. At the same time, corporate will have access to the cameras from all retail stores through Pinpoint service.

Pinpoint is Iveda Solutions' online mapping service that shows location of surveillance video cameras on Google Maps™ or other third party mapping platforms. Pinpoint is a video management system consolidation service, allowing live video access to all camera assets, with a single username and password.

Similares chose IvedaXpress in combination with Pinpoint for ease of deployment, functionality, and low cost. IvedaXpress is plug-and-play; each store can be equipped with surveillance cameras and access video from the 'cloud' within hours, as long as an Internet connection is available. 

Typical camera placements will be around the cash register and storage room in the back area of each store. Similares plans to use the hosted cameras, not only for the security of its employees and property, but to assess store traffic and remotely conduct certain operational functions without having to drive to the stores.
