Farmers Insurance Announces Training Program Tied to Farmers Field to Benefit Greater Los Angeles Community

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 12, 2012) - Farmers Insurance today announced its support of a Los Angeles community initiative, in conjunction with AEG's Community Benefits Program (CBP), which supports helping the local workforce gain necessary job skills to be ready for the opportunities created during the development of Farmers Field.

The Farmers Insurance training program, combined with those funded through the Farmers Field Community Benefits Program (CBP), would greatly enhance the number of local residents who could qualify for jobs and, ultimately, new careers in Southern California.

"As proud partners and primary advocates of Farmers Field, we are steadfast in our continued support of enhancing the revitalization of the downtown Los Angeles community," said Annette Thompson, Chief Learning Officer for Farmers Insurance. "We have a history of training excellence through the University of Farmers -- our award winning training program. By lending the University of Farmers training expertise to the local workforce, we would develop a unique offering that enables community members to be ready to enter the workforce."

The University of Farmers, ranked the number one corporate training organization by Training Magazine in 2011, has built a proven foundation of success, knowledge and skills from which people can grow. More than 99 percent of Farmers Insurance employees engage in University learning opportunities with more than 500 classroom-based courses and 5,500 online courses available on an annual basis. The University of Farmers is a focal point in the company's highly successful advertising campaign.

"We are proud to have a partner like Farmers Insurance who is as committed to the downtown Los Angeles community as we are at AEG," said Martha Saucedo, Executive Vice President, External Affairs, AEG. "Farmers Insurance is the perfect partner for us given their experience and dedication to the community and job training. We're thrilled they are extending the economic benefits of this project to the surrounding communities and funding improvements that enhance the quality of life and make our community a better place to live and work."
