Fashion Companies Go Virtual

Vanco Signs in More "Fashionable" Clients

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 18, 2007 -- Vanco (LSE: VAN), the global Virtual Network Operator, has added three new enterprise clients from the fashion industry. Each has signed a three-year contract for Vanco to provide fully managed IPSec networks. These new contracts add to the already impressive list of fashion industry clients that include the likes of Sephora, Kenzo and Du Pareil Au Même.

Du Pareil Au Même, for example, specializes in the creation and distribution of children's clothing. Vanco designed and manages their IPSec Wide Area Network (WAN) with DSL access to connect all their stores in several European countries, such as UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.

"We were looking for a single supplier who would be able to connect all our international sites. Our company is growing fast with development projects in Europe and our supplier needed to be able to go along with us. Vanco's approach seemed to be the most relevant," explains Thierry Magnard, IT Director for Du Pareil Au Même.

Vanco designed, implemented and currently manages Kenzo's WAN. Kenzo offers ready-to-wear clothing for men, women and children, as well as perfume, fashion accessories and home and leather goods. The solution, an ADSL-based IPSec Virtual Private Network, links the fashion house's boutiques across the globe.

"Vanco's approach is very appealing, in particular, its responsiveness and willingness to listen to our needs," says Didier Hémono, Kenzo's CIO. "It has given us a flexible, tailored solution that meets our budgetary requirements yet still ensures a high level of service quality. Vanco acts as our single contact point and has assumed full responsibility for managing every aspect of the network, leaving us free to concentrate on other matters."

The "virtual" network model is appealing to fashion houses also because of their need to efficiently connect hundreds of stores scattered across multiple countries. And judging from the rate at which Vanco is signing fashion clients, it looks like the cost savings and service improvements provided by this virtual network model are... very real.
