Fast Search & Transfer™ (FAST™), the leading developer of enterprise search and real-time alerting technologies, today announced that The Research Council of Norway has signed an agreement with Comperio to deploy the FAST Enterprise Search Platform (FAST ESP™) as the search and information retrieval standard across the Research Council's intranet and website.

"We are proud to have the Research Council of Norway as a customer," commented Ali I. Riaz, FAST's president. The Research Council of Norway is a national strategic body and funding agency for research and innovation activities, and plays a vital role in developing and implementing the country's national research strategy. FAST will also be applied to the Research Council's intranet and contribute to higher internal efficiency and knowledge-sharing among employees and Program owners.

"As we investigated ways to improve information access and speed in retrieving relevant and meaningful data to our customers, it became clear that FAST and Comperio's partnership could deliver what we needed - a market leading enterprise search platform and a dedicated local partner," explained Wilhelm Friis-Baastad, CIO of Norway's Research Council. "We are in the middle of implementing the solution, and believe we have chosen the right combination of smart software and smart people."

"Our mission is to help our customers increase their effectiveness and decrease the total cost of ownership for their search solutions," said Jorn Ellefsen, Comperio's CEO. The results of this partnership will also benefit other Nordic customers with further development of components and solution sets."

FAST ESP and FAST's portfolio of solutions and SDAs supply a complete information retrieval solution ideal for a growing number of key vertical markets and applications including e-Commerce and Internet Portals; Financial Services; Government; Life Sciences; Media and Publishing; and Telecom.
