FCD Elects New Directors and Officers for 2007-2008

Catherine Rose Is Added as New Executive Director

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - September 6, 2007) - The Forum for Corporate Directors (FCD), a leading Southern California resource for achieving corporate board excellence and best practices in governance, today announced the organization has elected new directors and officers for the 2007-08 year and has hired an Executive Director to manage FCD staff and provide operational support for the board of directors.

John Rehfeld, of Deerfield Technology Group, was reelected Chairman of the Board for a second term. Ben Frydman, of Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth, was reelected Secretary of the board. Alexander Marr, partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC, was elected Treasurer.

Five new directors have been elected to the FCD board for 2007-08, including Karen Gifford, founder of Gifford Management & Leadership Coaching; Peter Hursh, Managing Director of ECG Advisors, LLC; Ann Jones, founding partner of Jones, Dolan & Company, Inc.; Alexander Marr; and Brenda Schowalter, Corporate Governance Officer, Powerwave Technologies, Inc.

FCD's new Executive Director is Catherine Rose, a management consultant who most recently served as Director of the Nonprofit Resource Center at Volunteer Center Orange County. In this new post, Ms. Rose will serve as the lead staff officer overseeing FCD staff and operational activities for the organization, reporting to the board of directors.

Ms. Rose spent the majority of her career at Fortune 100 corporations in marketing, sales and general management roles. She has launched dozens of new products and has overseen numerous advertising, market research and consumer promotion efforts, including the worldwide launch of consumer products and the turnaround of a major snack food brand through strategic repositioning and retail management programs. She earned an undergraduate degree in economics from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
