FCD Moves to New Headquarters Offices in Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - August 21, 2007) - The Forum for Corporate Directors (FCD), a leading Southern California resource for achieving corporate board excellence and good governance, announced today the organization has moved to new headquarters offices in Newport Beach, near Orange County's John Wayne Airport.

The new offices are located at 4675 MacArthur Court, Suite 800 (Zip code: 92660). The telephone number is (949) 375-3323.

"This move is indicative of our successful growth as an organization and of the increasing importance of corporate governance in today's business environment," said John Rehfeld, FCD chairman. "FCD was launched as an all-volunteer organization in 1991 and this year marks a real turning point for us as we move into these new quarters and begin building a paid executive staff.

"We can't say enough good things about the incredible time, energy and devotion given to this organization by an amazingly large group of volunteers over the past 16 years," he said. "Without the support of all the current and past directors on our board, our committee chairs and committee members, and our individual and corporate members, the Forum for Corporate Directors as we know it today simply would not be the force it has become in the field of corporate directorship."

In 2006, FCD brought aboard Scott Gray as Interim Executive Director. The board is now in the process of hiring a permanent Executive Director. The organization's first full-time staff member is Michelle Conry, Operations Director, who joined FCD in July of 2007 from Maple Street Management, FCD's original administrative support agency.

"FCD has achieved this level of success because it provides the educational programs, networking events and professional growth opportunities that directors need to cope with an increasingly complex governance environment," Rehfeld added. "Members and guests can now earn both director education credits from Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and minimum continuing legal education (MCLE) credit for participating in regular FCD monthly programs."

The organization conducts three major events each year, including the fall Directors' Institute for continuing director education; the summer Governance Outlook event that forecasts the most important governance and proxy issues for the coming year; and the spring Director of the Year awards banquet, which recognizes the best of the best among Orange County directors.

"These new offices are the direct result of a generous in-kind sponsorship from the law firm of Gordon & Rees LLP," Rehfeld noted.
