Feast Deliciously This Thanksgiving With Cupcake Vineyards

Decadent Wines Inspire Finishing Touches for the Holiday Table

LIVERMORE, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 13, 2012) - Always on a quest to "Live Deliciously," Cupcake Vineyards is anticipating a delicious feast for the senses this Thanksgiving. Along with suggestions for the perfect wine pairings with turkey and all the trimmings, the winery offers ideas for festive centerpieces inspired by holiday-worthy varietals.

"Thanksgiving is about celebrating the bounty of this great country with family and friends," said winemaker Adam Richardson. "What better way to mark the occasion than by creating a memorable feast complete with food and drink and the décor to match. With a little creativity and some inspiration from unexpected sources, like a glass of Prosecco, sharing a stunning holiday table can be surprisingly easy."

Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco
Kick off your holiday gathering with some sparkle, and toast with Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco. Light and refreshing with fine effervescence, the Prosecco offers creamy flavors of ripe lemons and refined citrus notes with a toasted brioche finish.

Centerpiece idea: Add sparkle to the table with the help of a can of spray paint. Use gold, bronze, or even silver paint to coat a collection of small pumpkins, gourds and autumn leaves. Arrange them artfully on the table interspersed with votive candles to enhance the shimmer effect.

Cupcake Vineyards Riesling
From Germany's famed Mosel Valley, our Riesling hints at scents of ripe honeydew and lemon chiffon and flavors of creamy lemons, bright citrus and a touch of sweetness. Broad and full-bodied, the wine finishes with a zesty zing.

Centerpiece idea: Hollow out a white pumpkin to hold saturated floral foam and fill it with fresh flowers in autumn hues ranging from creamy yellow to warm orange, such as roses, lilies, gerbera daisies or chrysanthemums.

Cupcake Vineyards Chardonnay
Cupcake Vineyards Chardonnay is a full, elegantly textured wine with decadent butter, cream, bright citrus and vanilla. A big, rich wine from California's Central Coast, this Chardonnay has a subtle spice that complements a harvest dinner well.

Centerpiece idea: Bring the golden-hue of Cupcake Vineyards Chardonnay to the center of the table with stalks of wheat gracefully fanned out and topped with ears of Indian corn. Or, for a more casual look that evokes the sunshine of the Central Coast, arrange a bouquet of sunflowers in a rustic vase.

Cupcake Vineyards Pinot Noir
From California's Central Coast region, Cupcake Vineyards Pinot Noir releases an aroma of cherries that carries through to the palate. A touch of red currants and a hint of spice finish off this rich, smooth and elegantly textured wine.

Centerpiece idea: For a large gathering, consider creating several smaller arrangements to position around the table rather than just one in the center. Small clusters of deep red roses add a touch of warmth and simple elegance.

Cupcake Vineyards Petite Sirah
A dense, full-bodied red wine crafted from tiny fruit harvested in the coolest of California's Central Coast areas, our Petite Sirah delivers big flavor. Bursting with dark cherry, blackberry and bittersweet espresso, the wine exhibits a creamy mouthfeel derived from aging a portion in small oak barrels.

Centerpiece idea: If your Thanksgiving table is dominated by big flavors, consider going sparse in décor. Bare branches in a glass vase speak to the season while allowing the spotlight to shine on your menu and your guests.

Cupcake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
Cupcake Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon showcases soft tannins with primary fruit flavors of blackberry, dark cherry and cassis. These dark fruits mingle with tastes of cocoa and toasty oak before melding into a long, smooth and silky finish.

Centerpiece idea: Pick up a cornucopia basket and fill it with dark fruits and vegetables in jewel tones like ruby and amethyst, from red apples, cherries and grapes to deep purple plums and eggplant. For a more refined display, dress up the cornucopia by spraying it with a richly hued paint and lining it with a sumptuous fabric.

Cupcake Vineyards Gewürztraminer
Available in limited quantities, our Gewürztraminer is crafted in small batches and shows an amazing depth of flavor. Powerful aromas of tropical lychee fruit and melon give way to a wonderfully intense floral nose.

Centerpiece idea: Use a footed compote to display a monochromatic selection of the season's bounty, such as a collection of orange kumquats, mini pumpkins and squash, carrots and oranges. Or, display a range of color within a single fall harvest fruit, such as gold, green and red pears or apples.
