February Issue of the International Resource Journal Now Online

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Jan. 30, 2013) - George Media Inc. is pleased to announce the February issue of The International Resource Journal is now available online at www.internationalresourcejournal.com/E-MAG/2013/Feb/IRJ.php.

This edition looks at the emerging mining super power of Latin America and considers the challenges the boom brings with it. In our cover story, Alejandra Martin from business sustainability consultancy BSR invites us to examine the growing divide between the agendas of national government and local communities when it comes to mining operations. She also looks at how Latin America's growing middle class is imposing new pressures on the country's resident miners.

Continuing that theme, two of our columnists turn their attentions to the political environment and regulatory framework of the region's largest country, Brazil. Changing tack, we look at two of the less-talked-about metals - lithium and cobalt - and their current standings in the market. Speaking to the UK-based Cobalt Development Institute, we discover the central role cobalt has to play within the cleaner, greener and increasingly high-tech world we are creating.

Within our company features, we look at the game-changing oil sands extraction process innovated by Canada-based MCW Energy Group, as well as a potential 100-year mining project being developed by World Titanium Resources. Something a little different comes from Jody Elliot of The Resource Channel, whose aim this issue is to help mining employees live a healthy lifestyle. There is all that and much more in this edition of IRJ.
