February Issue of the International Resource Journal Now Online

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwired - Feb. 4, 2014) - George Media Inc. is pleased to announce that the February issue of The International Resource Journal is now available at http://www.internationalresourcejournal.com/E-MAG/2014/Feb/IRJ.php.

In this issue we set out to show that, despite appearances, waste is our best resource to utilise if we want to guarantee a cleaner and greener future - or indeed, any future at all.

We begin by speaking to two companies in the United Arab Emirates that are revolutionising the Middle East's approach to recycling. Green Energy Solutions and Sustainability have cleaned up Dubai's biggest dumpsite by installing a landfill gas recovery plant that not only removes harmful methane from the atmosphere, but also generates sufficient electricity for sustaining the site.

In the neighbouring Emirate of Sharjah, environmental management firm Bee'ah has implemented a world-class recycling programme that has transformed the capital city and its inhabitants' ways of life. This year it will build the Middle East's first emissions-free waste-to-energy plant, which will produce clean electricity while enabling the city to achieve its goal of reducing its landfill-bound waste to zero.

We also look at cutting-edge recycling technology at work in other parts of the world, and explain why the 'three Rs' are relevant to everyone, not least mining companies. A column on the coming end of the world throws the importance of resource conservation into sharp relief. All this in addition to our monthly pick of companies involved in the more traditional resources of oil, gold, diamonds, copper, tin, graphite and iron ore.
