EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 24, 2014) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada has provided $148,888 to Edmonton's Citadel Theatre through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund and the Canada Arts Presentation Fund.

The Honourable Laurie Hawn, Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre), announced this support today on behalf of Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages Shelly Glover.

Additional funding of $25,000 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund has allowed the Theatre to present the Beyond the Stage series. The series features folk, cabaret and jazz music and includes elements of theatre and comedy. Community engagement activities, offered in conjunction with the series, include panel discussions and artist talks.
