Feed The Children Helps Families of Wounded Soldiers With $100,000 Donation to Ocean City Home Bank's Walk for the Wounded

OCEAN CITY, NJ--(Marketwire - September 15, 2010) -  International nonprofit relief organization Feed The Children will present a $100,000 donation to Operation First Response at Ocean City Home Bank's 2nd annual Walk for the Wounded on Saturday, October 2. The check presentation will take place on the Ocean City Music Pier, on the Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace, at 11:00 am, just before the official start of the three-mile Walk.

"One of the main purposes of Walk for the Wounded is to make people in Southern New Jersey more aware of the challenges faced by returning soldiers and their families," said Steven Brady, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ocean City Home Bank. "A donation of this size from an organization as well-known and well-regarded as Feed The Children will undoubtedly help bring attention to our event and our cause. We're exceptionally grateful for this generous contribution, and for the exposure it will bring to Operation First Response."

For Feed The Children, a Christian, international, nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster, a donation to Operation First Response was a natural fit. "In this tough economic time, many are living paycheck to paycheck, but let's not forget those who protect or have protected our country may have families that need extra help as well," said Feed The Children spokesperson Tony Sellars. "The donation to Operation First Response is our way of saying 'Thank you' and to support our military men and women."

All proceeds from Walk for the Wounded will benefit Operation First Response, a national 501 C(3) nonprofit organization. Of every dollar raised for Operation First Response, 90 cents is donated to wounded soldiers and their families in times of crisis.
