Fergus Gordon Joins A.T. Kearney as VP, Partner in Financial Institutions Practice

Accomplished Leader With Deep Financial Institutions Experience

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Aug 6, 2012) -  Global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney announced today that Fergus Gordon has joined the firm as Partner and Vice President, bringing deep experience in both strategic and operational improvement across the consumer banking, commercial banking and insurance industries. Mr. Gordon's background, which is rich in traditional consumer and mortgage banking experience, broadens the capabilities and reach of A.T. Kearney's Financial Institutions Practice. Mr. Gordon will be working in A.T. Kearney's New York offices.

Previously, Mr. Gordon was head of the Financial Services Strategy Practice at Accenture North America, where he developed and executed growth strategies for large commercial and retail financial service companies. His work at A.T. Kearney will focus on retail banking, a sector that has seen much upheaval since the start of the financial crisis in 2008. Mr. Gordon notes, "Banks need to respond to the increasing demand coming from customers. Consumers are increasingly diversifying, socially, economically and politically. They are facing a host of challenges they haven't had to face prior to 2008. There are more customer segments, each one making more and different demands from their financial institutions. Banks have an opportunity to respond to these demands by expanding personalized services and delivering them seamlessly through multiple channels."

Mr. Gordon's C-level operational experience has taken him through multiple engagements throughout North America, the UK and Australia. Much of this work has targeted sustainable cost reduction and growth strategies for mortgage organizations and insurers. Prior to his years at Accenture, Mr. Gordon worked in Australia at a chartered accounting firm, preparing financial models and conducting financial statement analysis.
