Fermentations! Invites You to Celebrate 20 Years of Making Wine and Beer Better

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - June 7, 2013) - On Thursday June 13, 2013, from 6 pm to 8 pm, Fermentations! (www.fermentations.ca) is hosting a media evening to celebrate 20 years of helping people make wine and beer that surpasses commercially available libations. Two great activities are being held at 201 Danforth Avenue in Toronto that evening, giving you the opportunity to experience first-hand the quality and diversity that Fermentations! is known for.

Join us for a wine smackdown - a blind tasting of 12 wines, some commercial, some made with grapes Fermentations! clients have used. These grapes were purchased from the far corners of the world: Amador County in California, Spain's Montsant Appelation, Chile's Curico Valley and even our own Niagara backyard. Take your best guess as to which are commercial, and which were produced at Fermentations!

Wines made at Fermentations! are designed to surpass commercial wines costing three times more - the typical wine kit is not even allowed in the door. If you think that wines made at a u-vint are inferior (and especially if you don't), you should take this opportunity to take us up on our challenge.

Fermentations! was craft beer before there was a craft beer scene in Toronto - our clients came to us to be able to design and brew beer that represented the world's great beers, or existed only in imagination. A cross-section of chefs, beer writers, and others involved in Toronto's exploding craft beer industry have taken up our offer of designing the beer of their dreams. Pomegranate Wheat, Jalapeno Ale, Kefir and Curry Leaf Pale Ale, even a Rosehip Cardamom and Orange Peel Saison conditioned with Ice Wine are just a sampling of the offerings available to try, as well as an opportunity to talk with their creators.

Of even more unique interest, a lager brewed with Styrian Dana hops from Slovenia will be available. Dana, with a beautiful nose of lime and resin, has never been used by a Canadian brewery before. Our 20th anniversary is your introduction to the hop that will take lagers and pilsners to the next level!
