FiberNet Becomes Cisco Powered Program Member

Adoption of Cisco Managed Services Allows Enterprises to Align IT and Business Goals

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - November 19, 2008) - Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) today named FiberNet, LLC as a member of the Cisco® Powered Program, which for more than 10 years has been Cisco's premier partnering vehicle for solutions providers of technology as a service. The program sets the industry standard for recognizing investment in the tools necessary to provide high-quality, network-based managed services, and also provides opportunities for joint marketing with Cisco.

FiberNet, a One Communications company, is a regional telecommunications provider offering services in West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Ohio. Its Metro Ethernet, Internet Protocol (IP) virtual private network (VPN), security, and business communications services qualify for the Cisco Powered designation based on their use of Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) infrastructure.

"Our Cisco Powered service designations tell current and potential customers that our services have been built around the use of leading-edge technology," said Dave Armentrout, FiberNet president and chief operating officer. "We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Cisco, and our new Cisco Powered designations are an indicator of our investment in maintaining a technological edge and a milestone of our success."

A Cisco Powered designation is not only a public indication that the managed service provider has invested in Cisco's industry-leading solutions, but also entitles the solutions provider to take advantage of Cisco resources to envision, build, market and sell managed services, accelerating their adoption.

The Cisco Powered Program was strengthened in 2007 with the addition of third-party auditing and a global transaction model to support managed services channel partners. Audited Cisco Powered managed services also provide business customers with additional information as they increasingly turn to service providers for the management of their most critical business functions.

"Adopting managed services allows companies to align IT and business goals, enabling them to focus scarce internal resources on their core competencies while servicing day-to-day IT infrastructure and operational needs through technology delivered as a service," said Al Safarikas, Cisco senior director of service provider marketing. "By achieving Cisco Powered service designations, FiberNet has made an investment in obtaining the training, skills and knowledge necessary to play a pivotal role in meeting this increasing demand."

FiberNet joins an elite group of service providers, systems integrators and value-added resellers worldwide who have recognized the value of working together with Cisco. FiberNet offers integrated telecommunications solutions in West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, serving more than 25,000 businesses and 4,000 residential customers with more than 100,000 lines. The solutions-based company owns one of the largest fiber optic networks in the region, with approximately 4,000 route miles extending into Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
