Field Law Kicks Off Second Annual Community Fund Program

Regional law firm accepting new applications for program designed to grant funds to local community causes

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - March 6, 2014) - Field Law, a regional law firm with offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Yellowknife, has announced the commencement of the 2014 Field Law Community Fund Program. Now in its second year of activity, the Program supports local initiatives and causes within the communities Field Law serves.

The Field Law Community Fund Program received rave reviews from its inaugural program in 2013. This year the goal is to expand on last year's success and develop the program further. The program provides $75,000 annually to local individuals, projects and/or organizations, offering an interactive method of engagement with the communities that Field serves.

The Field Law Community Fund Program involves the community by enabling local individuals, initiatives and causes to apply for funding. Through a combination of community (public) online voting and deliberation by a local judging panel, finalists are chosen. Each winner will receive anywhere from $1,000 to the maximum award for their community market, which could be $30,000.

"Field Law is strongly invested in the communities we serve," says Jim Casey, Managing Partner. "We are humbled by the important work of the various groups and causes in these three markets and strive to play a small part in effecting positive change."

Field Law has made corporate social responsibility a significant platform for their business. Their preferred causes (but not exclusive) are those that support education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women's organizations, community and sports or arts and culture.

"The Community Fund Program shows the compassionate side of our profession by engaging our clients and the community in our charitable giving," says Doreen Saunderson, Calgary Managing Partner. "We were extremely proud of the efforts of everyone involved last year and are ready and eager to expand on opportunities to help."

The 2014 Community Fund Program opens for applications on March 5th. To apply for the Field Law Community Fund Program and to learn more, visit www.fieldlawcommunityfund.com. Interested individuals and/or groups must have their online application submitted by April 17, 2014.
