Field Law Launches Community Fund Program

Regional law firm announces interactive program aimed at providing funds for local community ideas

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 28, 2013) - Field Law, a regional law firm with offices in Calgary and Edmonton as well as Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, has announced the launch of a community fund program to support local initiatives and causes within the communities they serve.

The Field Law Community Fund Program will provide an additional $75,000 annually to local projects and/or organizations, engaging the communities that Field currently serves in a new and interactive way.

Each year, local individuals and/or groups will have the opportunity to apply for funds. Then, through a combination of community online voting and deliberation by a local judging panel, finalists will be announced and awards between $1,000 and $30,000 will be allocated. Community individuals and/or groups in and around Calgary, Edmonton and Yellowknife are eligible to apply for funds.

"Field Law cares about the communities we work and live in," said Jim Casey, Managing Partner at Field. "We are eager to go beyond the practice of law and help get good ideas off the ground that will have a measureable and ripple effect on the community."

Community partnership is a top priority for Field Law. Many members of the Field Law team regularly volunteer and contribute to the community on an individual basis, and the Field Law Community Fund Program will provide another opportunity to obtain support from the firm annually, while engaging in the collaborative selection process.

"We have a strong cultural understanding of our community, but we look forward to hearing where further support may be required," said Dan Carroll, Edmonton Managing Partner. "We will put our efforts into generating awareness and support for great projects and organizations that have the potential to bring health and economic prosperity to our communities."

Field Law's preferred causes (but not exclusive) are those that support education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women's organizations, community and sports or arts and culture.

This fund launched firm-wide at all three of Field's offices in Edmonton, Calgary and Yellowknife. Interested individuals and/or groups must have their online application submitted by July 24, 2013.
