Field Law Launches Third Year of Community Fund Program With Additional Funding in Celebration of 100th Anniversary

Regional law firm supporting local organizations and community causes with $100,000

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - April 8, 2015) - Field Law, a regional law firm with offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Yellowknife, is excited to announce the launch of the 2015 Field Law Community Fund Program. The Program supports local pay-it-forward ideas and causes within the communities Field Law serves. In celebration of Field Law's 100th anniversary, $100,000 will be donated across all three regions in 2015: a $25,000 increase over the first two years of the Program.

The Field Law Community Fund Program provides an interactive avenue for communication with the community to determine where they would like to see funds distributed. Local individuals, initiatives and causes can apply for funding over the course of five weeks. Then, through a combination of community (public) online voting and deliberation by a Community Market Judging Panel, finalists are chosen. Each winner will receive anywhere from $1,000 to the maximum award for their Community Market. Funds will be allocated in varying amounts to each market, with the maximum award set at $40,000 each for the Northern and Southern Alberta markets, and $20,000 for the Northwest Territories market.

With additional funds available for distribution this year, Field Law is eager for the Program to achieve even greater success and make a deep and lasting impact in the community. In 2014, 11 deserving community initiatives across all three regions received funding. Recipients ranged from organizations helping those with depression to community gardens to female empowerment programs.

"2015 marks our 100th anniversary and we couldn't be more excited to use this opportunity to give back to our communities," says Jim Casey, Managing Partner, Field Law. "After seeing the success of the program during its first two years, we feel like we have strengthened connections with our communities that will take the third year of the program to new heights."

Field Law is deeply invested in the communities they serve. Their preferred causes include (but are not exclusive to) those that support education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women's organizations, community and sports, or arts and culture.

"The Community Fund Program offers Field Law the unique opportunity to connect with our communities at a very grassroots level of engagement," says Doreen Saunderson, Partner, Field Law. "Hearing about the impact the program has had in the Calgary, Edmonton and Yellowknife communities over the past two years is both humbling and exciting. We look forward to seeing the creativity and compassion behind this year's submissions."
