Fieldpoint Private Welcomes Bessemer Trust Veteran to Advisor Team

Edward Butler Advised on More Than $1 Billion in Client Assets for Ultra-High Net Worth Families

GREENWICH, CT--(Marketwired - February 01, 2016) - Fieldpoint Private, the fast-growing wealth advisory and private banking firm serving ultra-high net worth families and institutions, today announced that Edward Butler has joined the firm as Managing Director and Senior Advisor. His practice is based in Fieldpoint Private's New York City offices.

Prior to joining Fieldpoint Private, Mr. Butler was as a senior vice president and client advisor with Bessemer Trust, where he served for nearly 15 years. Based in the firm's New York City offices, he worked with approximately 50 client families, spanning North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. His clientele included Fortune 500 CEOs and other executives, family business owners and multi-generational clients with inherited wealth, and his scope of services included investment management, estate planning, gifting and philanthropy.

"For the families I serve, the promise of combining the exceptional client experience of a boutique firm with the intellectual leadership the Fieldpoint team represents is very powerful," said Mr. Butler. "My clients have been immediately impressed with the firepower of their people and the breadth of their services, and they feel terrific about the choice I made in coming here."

"We could not be prouder that Ed has elected to join us," said Robert Matthews, Fieldpoint Private's President and CEO. "He has a deep appreciation for the vision of our founders, whom, having led some of the largest companies in the world, were determined that their creation never outgrow its ability to put the client first."

Fieldpoint Private was founded in 2008 by a team that included former chairmen and CEOs of firms including Merrill Lynch, UBS Americas, TD Ameritrade, Gillette and The Home Depot. Its addition of Mr. Butler follows the announcement last week that Andrew Randak, who previously advised clients at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), has joined the firm. Combined, the two advised on well more than $2 billion in assets at their previous firms. In addition to Bessemer Trust and BBH, Fieldpoint Private has welcomed advisors and clients from more than a dozen firms, among them Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firm Smith Barney, Goldman Sachs, U.S. Trust, Wilmington Trust, First Republic and Barclays Wealth.
