Fierce, Inc. Recognized as Top 100 Company to Work for by Seattle Business Magazine

Breakthrough Leadership Development and Training Company Chosen From Record-Breaking Applicant Pool as One of Washington's Best Small Businesses to Work for

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jun 17, 2011) - Fierce, Inc., a world-class leadership development and training company that drives results for businesses by developing conversation as a skill, today announced that it was named as one of Seattle Business Magazine's 100 Best Places to Work For in 2011. Seattle Business Magazine recognizes companies in Washington for best practices in employee retention, hiring and benefits.

Fierce was chosen as a finalist in the small business category based on its collaborative and goal-oriented work environment, employee education and development opportunities. Founded by Susan Scott, author of best-selling books Fierce Conversations and Fierce Leadership, Fierce executives lead by example in encouraging their employees to engage in candid conversations, solicit diverse opinions, and remain goal-oriented in their approach. A first-time nominee, Fierce was selected as a finalist from the largest applicant pool in the 21 year history of the Best Companies to Work For list.

"This year set a record for the largest number of nominations in the 21 year history of Seattle Business magazine's 100 Best Companies to Work For competition, and the quality of the applicant pool was exceptional," said Michael Romoser, associate publisher of Seattle Business magazine. "The fact that Fierce, Inc. made the list as a first-time nominee is especially impressive given the record number of applicants. It's really a testament to their strength as a company, and to the positive work environment they've fostered."

The award was judged over the course of three phases -- a formal nomination stage, research and analysis of an anonymous employee survey by an independent research group, and a final selection of winners by a panel of distinguished judges. The survey makes up 90 percent of the judging. Winners were selected within four categories, nonprofit, small, medium and large size companies.

"We are honored to be recognized by Seattle Business magazine as one of Washington's Best Companies to Work For," said Halley Bock, CEO of Fierce. "At Fierce, we understand the importance of clear and candid communication in the workplace, and the difference it makes in building strong inter-office relationships and keeping employees engaged. This recognition reaffirms our mission, inspires us as an organization to carry on the momentum, and continue to lead by example."
