Attention: Assignment Editor, Education Editor, News Editor, Photo Editor TORONTO/ONTARIO/MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2010) - A car races down the road, recklessly passing traffic. The driver loses control, flipping the vehicle and crashing into a guardrail. The scene then flashes to several high school students enjoying a typical Saturday evening. None realize how their actions that night will have life-altering consequences.

These are the opening moments of Shattered, the new School Multi-Media Assembly Program being launched by MADD Canada this week.

Media are invited to join students and staff of Francis Libermann Catholic High School for the official school debut of Shattered:

Date: September 9, 2010 at 9:45 a.m.

Location: Francis Libermann Catholic High School
4640 Finch Avenue East , Scarborough, ON, M1S 4G2

MADD Canada National President Margaret Miller; Allstate President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Kiah, and members of the school staff and student body will be available to speak with media about Shattered.

The dynamic and powerful program is part of MADD Canada's efforts to educate young people about the risks of impaired driving. Road crashes are the leading cause of death among 15 to 25 year olds, and alcohol is a factor in 45% of those crashes.

This screening marks the start of a 10-month tour to deliver Shattered to high schools across the country. With the continued support of the Allstate Insurance Company of Canada and its other sponsors, MADD Canada plans to deliver Shattered to 1 million students in 2010-2011.
