14 Ontario charities vying for five prizes of $5,000 for best annual report

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 13, 2012) - The finalists have been announced in Ontario's award program for best charity annual reports - the Voluntary Sector Reporting Awards (VSRAs). The 14 finalists competing in five categories will each have a chance to win a prize of $5,000 at the VSRA awards luncheon on February 15, 2013 in Toronto.

"For five years, the VSRAs have been helping Ontario charities show more transparency and accountability in their annual reporting. This year, we saw more than 100 nominations from charities of every size from all corners of the province. We look forward to announcing the winners on February 15 in Toronto," said Steve Salterio, Director of the CA-Queen's Centre for Governance, which organizes the VSRAs every year in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO). PwC has been the sponsor of the program since its inception and the National Post newspaper is the VSRA national media sponsor.
