Financial Services Company Speeds Collection With Fortis

CJM Financial Improves Customer Service With Document Management

BRANFORD, CT--(Marketwire - February 16, 2011) - Westbrook Technologies, developer of Fortis™ and FortisBlue™ enterprise document management (EDM) software, today announced that CJM Financial, Inc. has implemented Fortis to streamline invoice processing, quickly bring new customers on board and maintain customer satisfaction.

CJM Financial, based in Ankeny, Iowa, is a factoring company that primarily serves the trucking industry, but also has customers in manufacturing, distribution and services. Factoring is the sale of accounts receivables at a discount in exchange for immediate payment. Independent truckers, for example, don't have the time and resources to analyze credit histories or ensure invoices get paid in a timely fashion.

The factoring process relies heavily on efficiently handling invoices and responding to customer inquiries quickly. "We needed a system that could retain invoices and bills of lading, while providing our account managers quick access to these documents to send to customers' debtors," explained Troy Murphy, owner of CJM Financial. "The software we used prior to implementing Fortis was not scalable as our business grew. We wanted to streamline the process and avoid creating multiple photocopies of documents."

Working with LBC Technology, a Westbrook partner that offers network support and services, CJM chose Fortis document management software. "It was Fortis' query and exporting abilities, as well as its capacity to expand as needed down the road, that appealed to us," said Murphy.

Using Fortis has reduced the turnaround time for distributing invoices and collecting payments. Employees no longer need to make duplicate copies or search for misplaced documents. CJM captures 1,100 documents a week or 4,500 documents a month with Fortis. It is easier for CJM Financial to bring new customers on board as well.

Another benefit for CJM Financial's customers is a new service that provides back-up copies of invoices needed for tax purposes at the end of the year. With Fortis, CJM can quickly produce digital versions.

"Fortis helps financial services companies get control over time sensitive documents," said Einar Haukeland, CEO of Westbrook. "Fortis centralizes and safeguards these documents for easy retrieval and distribution. Companies like CJM Financial can eliminate much of their manual paperwork and increase productivity."
