PCI DSS is the payment card industry's security requirement for entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major credit card brands -- Visa, MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB.

This helps facilitate PCI DSS compliance validation for merchants or acquirers, independent services organizations (ISOs), and processors with large merchant populations.
