Find Where to Vote in Canada-VOTE.CA

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2010) - Just in time for the municipal elections in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario, a new web application appropriately named provides simple, mapped voting place information for virtually any location.

It's a voting place locator for all locations and all levels of government in Canada, and an example of open government and open data efforts taking root.

Just type in your address and get full ward-specific voting place information mapped out in Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto. For other municipalities, advance voting places and 'all voter' poll places are mapped and listed. Voters also get a direct link to their own municipal election page to verify data and for additional resources.

Voting places are temporary and change, and voter information cards aren't always convenient, so 'where do I vote?' is a question built into public elections. This free service answers that question, and delivers public voting and election information organized around your ward, electoral district or riding, the building blocks of our democracy. helps citizens find where to vote, helps candidates get out their supporters and helps local government increase awareness and access to the vote.
