Covering the entire C-band of the optical communications window, the WaveShaper 16000 also supports Fourier Processing which allows splitting of an input optical signal between multiple output ports, each with individual filter functions applied. The WaveShaper 16000 can be controlled using Finisar's intuitive WaveManager graphical user interface. Alternatively, Finisar's simple Application Programming Interface, which is available for both Windows and Linux operating systems, allows integration of the WaveShaper in automated research and test environments.

The HPN group at the University of Bristol is evaluating the 4x16 technology on transformative programmable architectures and test beds.
The WaveShaper 16000 with 4x16 port configuration is available as bench-top unit (16000S) and as a modular version for system integration (16000M). It has the same size and command set as the existing members of the WaveShaper family and therefore can serve as a drop-in replacement for existing configurations. The WaveShaper 16000 is available and can be ordered immediately.
Finisar's test instrument family, including the WaveShaper 16000S, will be on display at ECOC 2014 from September 22-24 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, at Finisar's booth #412.
