Finjan Signs Specialty Distributor Agreement with Alternative Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(CCNMatthews - Aug 2, 2005) -

Finjan Software, the leading provider of Internet security solutions for business of all sizes, today announced that it has signed a value-added distribution agreement with Alternative Technology Inc., a leading distributor of security products and thin client/server-based computing solutions. Alternative Technology will distribute the Finjan Next Generation Vital Security™ Appliance Series to its network of resellers in the USA and Canada.

Finjan's Vital Security™ Appliance Series extends Alternative Technology's current portfolio of security products by adding a truly "proactive" and complementary security solution, thereby allowing Alternative Technology to provide its resellers and their customers with a range of scalable appliances that offer remarkable protection against new and unknown attacks, an area unmet by traditional security solutions.

"Alternative Technology selected Finjan specifically for its unique Next Generation Application-Level Behavior Blocking technology. We look forward to offering our customers the only proactive gateway solution on the market for true Zero-Hour protection from any type of malware attacks, including Spyware, Phishing, viruses, worms, Trojans and Spam," said Tom Zorn, Executive Vice President of Alternative Technology. "Finjan's security solutions are for resellers who believe that value-add for their customers is not just an acronym. This will further establish them as the 'Trusted Advisors,' constantly bringing the best solutions to their customers and always keeping steps ahead of the hackers."

This partnership follows the recent launch of Finjan's dedicated Anti-Spyware Gateway Appliances for SMB and Enterprise organizations. Already generating success among the market place, the Anti-Spyware Appliances fill the much-recognized gap in true proactive Anti-Spyware security by offering the only gateway solution able to detect unknown Spyware.

"Finjan made channel development in North America a top priority for 2005, and that included partnering with a well-respected value-add distributor," said Nick Sears, President of U.S. Operations at Finjan. "Alternative Technology has an excellent reputation in the VAR community, which I have learned directly from many of the CEOs of our newly signed resellers. I am particularly impressed by their strong security focus and strategy of helping resellers by piecing together complementary best-of-breed products to create solutions that fix real customer problems. Alternative Technology's innovative programs around security training and corporate compliance, and GSA opportunities, bring much to the table in our new partnership. Finjan wanted more than what traditional distributors offer: an order desk, bank, and warehouse, and while Alternative executes on those core competencies, it takes distribution to another level," concluded Sears.
