Finning Announces C$26 Million Equipment Sale to Highland Valley Copper

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 25, 2005) - Finning International Inc. ("Finning") (TSX:FTT) announced today that its Canadian division has secured the sale of 10 pieces of Caterpillar equipment to the Highland Valley Copper mine, southwest of Kamloops. Highland Valley, the largest copper mine in Canada, is owned jointly by Teck Cominco (97.5%) and Highmont Operating Corp.

The equipment package, valued at approximately C$26 million, consists of 10 793C off-highway trucks, the first of which will be delivered early in 2006. The new trucks will be added to HVC's existing fleet of 12 793C haul trucks, which are currently in operation at the mine together with an existing fleet of 789 haul trucks. The new haul trucks have been acquired in response to increased stripping requirements and a possible five-year mine life extension. Before the end of next year, majority owner Teck Cominco will make a final decision as to whether mine life will be extended to 2013.

"The metals and mining sector in Western Canada continues to perform exceptionally well, creating demand for new equipment and services. Finning is in an excellent position to meet that demand," said Doug Whitehead, president and CEO of Finning.

"We're proud of our longstanding relationship with Highland Valley Copper," said Ian Reid, president of Finning (Canada). "This is indeed, a positive sign for Canada's largest copper mine, Kamloops and the surrounding community. Highland Valley Copper's haul truck fleet is exclusively Caterpillar and we look forward to continuing to contribute to Highland Valley's success for many years to come."
