Fior d'Italia Serves up Its Blog

America's Oldest Italian Restaurant Still Leads the Restaurant Industry!

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - August 30, 2007) - America's oldest Italian restaurant goes live with its blog at and offers a place for the restaurant to speak to customers directly and for diners to respond with their comments. Now in addition to great Italian cuisine and old world service the Fior d'Italia is using Internet to better serve its customers.

The restaurant's blog,, will keep customers up-to-date on the latest events and provide a forum for customers' comments. It will also serve as a mouthpiece for the restaurant. The blog will open up a whole new and untapped resource for the restaurant.

Recently, several food-oriented blogs or Internet sites have emerged critiquing restaurants nationally and in the Bay Area. Almost all of the sites offer no opportunity for the restaurant to respond.

"It's time for restaurants to have a voice too," said proprietor Bob Larive. "Let's have a two-way conversation."

"For decades, the Fior d'Italia has had a community of diners devoted to its tradition. We are now adding an online venue for that tradition to expand," said Larive.

Founded in 1886, the Fior d'Italia has devotedly entertained generations of families for their baptisms, weddings, anniversaries and retirements. Corporate and charity events also have a long history at this restaurant. "The Fior" has been a leader and innovator in the restaurant industry for 121 years and with the blog the restaurant asserts its leadership again.

"We cherish our longtime friends," said Larive. "With our blog, we are now reaching out to their grandchildren as well."
