Keynote to Address Cyber Security Trends and Cyber Warfare

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 9, 2013) - FireEye (NASDAQ: FEYE), the leader in stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, announced that FireEye Chairman of the Board and CEO David DeWalt will be presenting at the 13th Annual Cyber Security Symposium in Sacramento, California on October 9, 2013.

The Cyber Security Symposium is offered by Public Sector Partners to share best practices to protect the citizenry, critical infrastructure, and sensitive data from cyber attacks.

DeWalt's session, titled "Threat and Response: Combating Advanced Attacks and Cyber-Espionage," details how well-funded criminals and nation-states are targeting government and industry with sophisticated malware to steal, compromise and even destroy information with increasing frequency. DeWalt will also discuss how the United States and individual organizations can better protect themselves and shift the paradigm from reactive to proactive cyber defense.

"The world is at cyber war with attacks in every direction and location," said DeWalt. "State and local governments are not immune to cyber attacks and they must make cyber defense a top priority to protect citizen data and critical government infrastructure."

About FireEye, Inc.
FireEye has invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. These highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-based defenses, such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and gateways. The FireEye Threat Protection platform provides real-time, dynamic threat protection without the use of signatures to protect an organization across the primary threat vectors, including Web, email, and files and across the different stages of an attack life cycle. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 1,100 customers across more than 40 countries, including over 100 of the Fortune 500.
