FireEye Leads the Security as a Service Transformation With Expansion of FireEye as a Service

The Only Intelligence-Led Platform Delivered as a Service Expands Threat Coverage and Adds New Partner Program to Solve Security Resource Challenges and Prioritize Response Against Threats

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 12, 2016) - FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE), the leader in stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, today announced the expansion of FireEye as a Service™ (FaaS™) threat coverage, enabling FireEye to deliver Security as a Service that further helps organizations quickly detect, investigate, and hunt for threats. Additionally, FireEye has launched the new FireEye as a Service Delivery Partner Program that will provide partners a service to enhance their cyber security offerings through shared analyst expertise.

"The security industry has been overwhelming customers with more layers of security technology and low quality alerts," said David DeWalt, chairman of the board and CEO, FireEye. "By expanding our coverage of and unifying organizations' alerts under FireEye as a Service experts, we are building the first piece of a Security as a Service revolution that will reduce the time it takes to detect and respond to breaches and minimize their impact."

At the heart of FireEye as a Service are the best cyber security experts -- FireEye threat analysts operating as an extension of customers' and partners' security teams. Expanded threat coverage is powered by the Intelligence-led FireEye Security Platform, unifying and accelerating threat detection and correlation across network, email, and endpoints, and powering forensic capabilities. New data collection capabilities via the FireEye Threat Analytics Platform™ (TAP™) now unifies security infrastructures under FireEye as a Service to identify and prioritize response to threats identified by organization's disparate security products.

FireEye as a Service continues to innovate, disrupting the complexity of security operations and traditional managed security service provider (MSSP) solutions with its Security as a Service approach. With its expanded threat coverage options and tiers of service, FireEye as a Service customers benefit from:

  • Threat coverage options ranging from protection for advanced persistent threats (APT) to full coverage across a variety of severity levels
  • Tiers of service that range from a simple notification to investigation and validation of an alert, to proactive hunting
  • Easy purchase process with a simplified pricing model that scales for increasing visibility over time
  • Easy-to-understand reporting with simple, graph-based summaries of threats and response efficacy

FireEye as a Service offers ongoing, global scale threat detection and response capabilities to hundreds of organizations in every part of the world. Since launching in 2014 as the foundation of the industry's Security as a Service transformation, FireEye as a Service now:

  • Features seven Advanced Threat Response Centers on four continents for 24-7-365 coverage,
  • Detects and responds to an average of 250 compromises per month, and
  • Spends an average of 743 hours per month proactively hunting for threats in customer networks.

All of this is accomplished at speeds and support beyond that of traditional MSSPs, with nearly all reports of compromise generated within 24 hours of receiving an alert.

FireEye as a Service Delivery Partner Program

Through the FireEye as a Service Delivery Partner program, FireEye works with partners to provide expertise from FireEye threat analysts that act like an extension of their cyber security team. FireEye as a Service Delivery Partners maintain the customer relationship and provide front-end service delivery of threats in a customers' environment, while FireEye supports the customer with options for back-end monitoring, investigation and proactive hunting. The FireEye as a Service Delivery Partner program is available for all levels of FireEye as a Service offerings.

As part of the partner program, FireEye created a new accreditation -- the FireEye Certified TAM -- so customers can be assured the partner has the knowledge and support necessary to describe and deliver all information created from the FaaS service to their customers. Herjavec Group (www.herjavecgroup.com), a global managed services provider founded in 2003 by dynamic IT entrepreneur Robert Herjavec, is the first partner to offer the FireEye as a Service as part of their information security offering.

"We are bringing together the FireEye Security Platform of expertise, technology and intelligence with Herjavec Group's suite of security services," said Robert Herjavec, founder and CEO of the Herjavec Group. "Our customers will benefit from a cohesive solution leveraging leading FireEye capabilities, customized to their unique environment. We're offering an improved way to quickly contain incidents and minimize the impact of an attack."

About FireEye, Inc.

FireEye has invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. These highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-based defenses, such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and gateways. The FireEye Threat Prevention Platform provides real-time, dynamic threat protection without the use of signatures to protect an organization across the primary threat vectors and across the different stages of an attack life cycle. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 4,400 customers across 67 countries, including more than 680 of the Forbes Global 2000.
