FireHost Looks Back on 2011; 50 Million Hacks Blocked and More Than 100 Percent Customer Growth

Secure Cloud Hosting Company Prepares to Double Again in 2012

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - Dec 8, 2011) - FireHost, a secure cloud hosting company, is planning substantial expansion in 2012 following a record-breaking year for the company. 2011 for FireHost included protecting customers from over 50 million cyber attacks, launching the industry's first ever PCI DSS 2.0 compliant public cloud, securing $10 million in funding, and more than doubling its customer base. New customers include many Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 companies such as Atlas Van Lines, Fossil, and Hamilton Beach. FireHost continues to see considerable growth with their PCI DSS and HIPAA offerings.

"I am extremely proud of the dedication and the accomplishments made by our team in 2011, however we are not stopping to rest and reflect. Rather we are focused on expanding internationally and carving a substantial place in the global cloud hosting market," said Chris Drake, founder and CEO of FireHost.

FireHost has built a reputation for setting the standard for security in cloud hosting. FireHost's customers cannot risk being hacked and are in need of enterprise class security for their websites and applications. Within the last year, the company has prevented millions of attacks on its customers' websites and applications such as SQL injections, cross-site scripting, and brute force attempts. FireHost has increasingly become a go-to service provider for healthcare, financial, and eCommerce organizations of all sizes.

"We chose FireHost because we require the highest security for our enterprise level eCommerce clients," stated Ryan Atkins, online director and co-founder of The Distance. "Highly trafficked eCommerce sites are common targets for attacks and when our clients' reputation is on the line, we can't take any chances. FireHost gives us peace of mind with its expertise in security and their PCI compliant environment."

FireHost's $10M Series B round of funding came from angel investors and The Stephens Group in September of this year. The funding will be used to accelerate company growth and to make secure cloud hosting a global offering. "We have a number of international customers and see a significant need for our services outside of the United States," continued Drake. "We anticipate this trend to continue in 2012 and beyond."

To support their continued growth in the US and abroad, FireHost is hiring in all positions at its headquarters in Dallas, as well as in its new UK office that will serve the European market.
