Firm Leo Desilets maitre herboriste Inc. Receives Financial Support from Canada Economic Development


SCOTSTOWN, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 28, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Léo Désilets maître herboriste Inc. was granted financial assistance for the acquisition of manufacturing equipment and expansion of its facilities. With the work now complete, the enterprise today proceeded with the inauguration of its new premises.

"By supporting Léo Désilets maître herboriste Inc., which is taking the necessary means to improve its productivity, our government is showing once again that it is committed to investing in projects that help bring about economic growth," said Minister Lebel.

Founded in 1974, Léo Désilets maître herboriste Inc. manufactures some 200 natural health and skin care products. The Scotstown-based firm also operates a subsidiary company, Facoteck Packaging, which packages natural health care products and cosmetics for private brands.

The financial support from Canada Economic Development enabled Léo Désilets maître herboriste Inc. to raise its productivity. In the wake of this project, the Estrie company was able to create three new jobs and is now well on the path to increasing its sales on domestic and foreign markets.

This assistance, granted in the form of a $168,000 repayable financial contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.
