First 5 California to Make Announcement Regarding Children's Health Care

WHAT:       First 5 California will conduct a media briefing following a
            special commission meeting convened to consider a contribution
            toward low-cost health care for children ages 0-5.

            The Commission will consider contributing to the Healthy
            Families Program, which provides low-cost medical insurance to
            millions of children from low-income families that do not
            qualify for Medi-Cal. Currently, the program's future is
            uncertain due to the state's fiscal crisis.

            Kris Perry, executive director of First 5 California, will
            provide an update to participating media and answer questions
            regarding the State Commission's plans.
