First Advantage Executive Vice President and Managing Director Elected to Executive Board of National Employment Opportunity Network

Dan Filby to Serve on Board of Primary Lobbying Organization for WOTC and Other Tax Credits

ST. PETERSBURG, FL--(Marketwire - Jan 30, 2013) -  First Advantage, the leading global provider of comprehensive talent acquisition solutions, today announced that Dan Filby, executive vice president and managing director, was recently elected to serve as an executive board member of the National Employment Opportunity Network (NEON).

Founded in 1996, NEON is a not-for-profit 501C organization dedicated to supporting cost-effective government incentives to encourage employers to hire from groups that face difficulty finding and retaining jobs by championing legislation such as the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and related state and local incentives. Collaborating with the U.S. Department of Labor and other agencies at the state and local level, NEON works to support existing legislation, enhancements to existing laws and new laws surrounding hiring tax incentives.

As NEON is the primary national voice for hiring tax credits, Filby's election to the executive board further positions First Advantage as a leading voice in the support of WOTC and other tax credit initiatives. The appointment also allows the company to remain up to date and at the forefront of all changes to current tax credit laws and legislation and help its clients to attain the maximum tax credits when hiring employees from eligible groups.

"As the country continues to struggle with high unemployment, one of our main goals is to promote the hiring of individuals with significant barriers to employment and bring more attention to the tax credits and incentives available to employers who do so," said Jack Freker, CEO of First Advantage. "The election of Dan Filby to NEON's executive board highlights our commitment to remain on the cutting edge of all WOTC developments and providing employers throughout the US innovative technology solutions that help them maximize their tax credit programs."

"I'm honored to be elected to the executive board for NEON, an organization nationally focused on the promotion of hiring tax incentives that works closely with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Labor (DOL). As a member of the board, I look forward to playing a larger role in NEON's operations and expanding the number of employers who take advantage of lucrative tax incentives," said Dan Filby. He went on to state, "I am also happy to be joining Phil Ownbey, our leader of the First Advantage WOTC business, as he was recently re-elected to the board."
