First Annual Slalom Slam at Seattle Prep Basketball Tournament Announces Teams and Headline Sponsor

Seattle Prep Hosts Top Teams From Across the Western Region for Inaugural Tournament Sponsored by Slalom Consulting

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - December 7, 2010) - The inaugural Slalom Slam holiday basketball tournament hosted by Seattle Prep tips off Monday, December 27 and runs through Wednesday, December 29. Presented by Slalom Consulting, the tournament is the first of its kind for the Seattle area and boasts eight outstanding West Coast teams representing Washington, California and Nevada.

Prep President Kent Hickey says, "Holiday high school basketball tournaments are known for drawing local sports enthusiasts, talent scouts and media attention. This one in particular is exciting for the Seattle area because it pits Washington teams against some highly competitive schools from out of state. The games are sure to be tough, but I have no doubt our local talent is up to the challenge."

The tournament will feature a mix of public and private schools, including Bishop Manogue, who finished last season ranked 5th in Nevada and will be strong once again. Community Charter from Los Angeles completed their last season ranked #1 in Division 5 for Los Angeles and will be led by Lawrence Damingo, a 6'5" 220lb forward who is a scoring and rebounding machine.

Sacred Heart Cathedral is expecting to once again compete for the California State Championship while Union is the reigning 3A State Champions and are expecting to compete for a 4A title this year.

The 2010 tournament will feature boys teams while the 2011 tourney will host top girls teams from around the country. The tournament will continue to rotate boys and girls teams on alternating years.

"Slalom Consulting is headquartered in Seattle and the sponsorship reflects our commitment to supporting the local community," said Brian Jacobsen, general manager for Slalom Seattle. "The Slalom Slam is a great way to showcase Seattle's basketball talent -- Seattle Prep is a great partner and we're excited to be an inaugural sponsor of the event."

Games will take place in the McHugh Gymnasium on the Seattle Prep campus at 2:30pm, 4:00pm, 6pm & 7:30pm Monday-Wednesday.
