First Narrows Discovers Gold-Mineralized Porphyry North of Tecoripa, Sonora, Mexico

18,173 Hectares (44,906 Acres) Staked to Cover ASTER Anomalies and Projected Mineral Trends

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - August 21, 2007) - First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-V: UNO) and (PINKSHEETS: FNRWF) ("First Narrows" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has staked 18,173 hectares (44,906 acres) (the "Tecoripa East Property" or the "Property") covering alteration anomalies delineated by an ASTER (Advanced Spectrum Thermal Emission and Reflectance Radiometer) satellite image interpretation study. A gold-iron-oxide mineralized porphyry and brecciated complex (the Luisa Zone) has been discovered directly coincident with one of the ASTER anomalies.

Crushing and panning confirms the presence of fine free gold in the porphyry. The siliceous alteration occurs as an intense and vuggy development, in which finely disseminated sulphide mineralization is present.

The Luisa Zone outcrop area measures some 20 meters (66 ft.) wide by over 75 meters (246 ft.) in length. Luisa extends beyond the outcrop area beneath alluvium and colluvium. Intense Fe-Oxide, silica, and clay mineral alterations are pervasive. More than 20 fine (less than 0.3mm diameter) colors of gold have been panned from one ~5 kg (11 lbs) sample of porphyry. Grab samples of the mineralized porphyry have been sent for analysis.

The Company has commenced mapping, prospecting, and trenching of the area surrounding the discovery outcrop where an extensive iron-oxide color bloom is present over more than 100 hectares (247 acres), coinciding with an iron-oxide--silica--smectite--montmorillonite--pyrophyllite--kaolinite ASTER anomaly. The rocks are sheared, fractured, brecciated, and intensely altered. Abundant magnetite-hematite is present. The mineralizing event may extend over an area greater than 1 sq. km (0.62 sq. miles), as evidenced by the red (iron-oxide) coloration bloom visible on the surface.

Detailed mapping of the outcrop and channel sampling are in progress.

First Narrows' recent work suggests that a significant mineral belt with potential for porphyry style (Cu, Au, W, Mo) deposits, and for iron-oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) epithermal high grade (Cu, Au, Ag, Bi, Mo) veins, is emerging in this region of Sonora. Importantly, there is no record or evidence of previous modern exploration efforts in the region and all targets appear to remain undrilled and open on trend. The combination of aggressive prospecting, dogged field work, and the ASTER survey has not only enabled the Company to acquire an extensive and priority land position, but has also set the stage for the rapid advancement of the exploration programs from grass roots to discovery.

The Company will be preparing a mineral potential assessment and exploration proposal report on the Property in accordance with National Instrument 43-101. Dr. Adrian Mann, P.Geo. (AGEGGA #M50794), an independent Qualified Person, has visited the Luisa Zone showing and has reviewed and approved the content of this news release.

The Property is situated 18 km (11.2 miles) south-southwest of the historical high-grade Susana D'Oro copper-gold veins, and 5 km (3.1 miles) north of Tecoripa. It adjoins the east side of the Tecoripa West property.

About First Narrows Resources Corp.:

First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-V: UNO) is a Canadian-based mineral exploration company whose corporate strategy is to develop overlooked and undervalued mineral properties that offer near term production potential. The Company has active projects in the Province of New Brunswick, Canada and in the State of Sonora, Mexico.
