First Narrows Discovers Gold-Silver Mineralization in Colluvium Chips Coincident With 4 km Long Pronounced ASTER Anomaly, Sonora, Mexico

9,795 Hectares (24,205 Acres) Staked to Cover ASTER Anomaly on Alluvial/Colluvial Plain 95 km East of Hermosillo

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - August 14, 2007) - First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-V: UNO) (PINKSHEETS: FNRWF) ("First Narrows" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Minera FNR de Mexico, S.A. de C.V., First Narrows' wholly owned Mexican subsidiary, has staked 9,795 hectares (24,204 acres) (the "Tecoripa West Property," or, the "Property") covering a major, discrete, Fe-Oxide-silica-clay mineral alteration anomaly developed along an east-west strike of more than 4 kilometers (kms) (2.5 miles) as delineated by an ASTER (Advanced Spectrum Thermal Emission and Reflectance Radiometer) satellite image interpretation study.

Prospecting has located hematite and quartz vein chips in the colluvium directly coincident with the ASTER anomaly across a width of 100 meters (328 feet) or more. Assays of the hematite and quartz returned values of up to 0.73 ppm gold and 30 ppm silver. There is no record of previous exploration work on the ASTER anomaly.

The Property covers a larger Fe-Oxide-silica bloom that extends kms beyond the anomaly on an alluvial and colluvial plain where outcrop is scarce. Nevertheless, colluvial remnants of bedrock occur randomly across the plain providing the opportunity to prospect, map and sample various mineralizing events.

The Company will be preparing a mineral potential assessment and exploration proposal report on the Tecoripa West Property in accordance with National Instrument 43-101.

The Property is situated 24 km (15 miles) southwest of the historical high-grade Susana D'Oro copper-gold veins, and straddles the main paved highway between Hermosillo and Tecoripa.
