First New England Gaming Summit to Offer Legislative Updates in the Region

UNCASVILLE, CT--(Marketwire - September 1, 2010) -  Legislators from three New England states will be among those participating in a panel discussion at the inaugural New England Gaming Summit, set for September 20-21 at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. The event is attracting a broad mix of policymakers, industry leaders, grass-roots organizations, civic groups, analysts, attorneys and others with interest and concerns about the expanded gaming in this market.

"Massachusetts and New Hampshire have been actively pursuing gaming legislation that would legalize casino gambling and other states in the region also are considering gaming expansion," said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, co-producer of the Summit with BNP Media. "The New England Gaming Summit will provide fresh perspectives and candid analysis of the legislative outlook, operational challenges and economic and social impacts posed by these various gaming measures."

In the legislative and regulatory update session on September 21, participants will provide insight into the legislative process and what might be in store for their respective states. Additionally, there will be an update on the potential of online gaming in the region. Speakers in this session include:

  • Richard D. "Skip" Bronson, Chairman, U.S. Digital Gaming
  • Rep. David Campbell, Hillsborough-District 24, New Hampshire House of Representatives
  • Sen. Lou D'Allesandro, District 20, New Hampshire Senate
  • Sen. Stan Rosenberg, Hampshire and Franklin District, Massachusetts Senate
  • Sen. Andrea Stillman, 20th District, Connecticut Senate

Other sessions at the Summit include a review of the competitive landscape, a tribal gaming update, a discussion of racing and gaming and a look at the economic and social impacts of gaming.

More than two dozen speakers are already confirmed for the Summit, led by keynote speaker Mitchell Grossinger Etess, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mohegan Sun and Chief Executive Officer of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, who will deliver the Summit's luncheon keynote address on Tuesday, September 21.

The New England Gaming Summit is the ideal way to reach key decision makers in the Northeast gaming market, as it is expected to draw a broad mix of industry leaders, policymakers, analysts and others interested in this potentially explosive market.
