First of Two Trillium CNG Stations in Richmond, Va., Area Goes Into Service

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Dec 13, 2013) - Natural gas began flowing at a new CNG fueling station at the SUPERVALU INC. distribution facility located at 8258 Richfood Road in Mechanicsville, Va. The private station features the high performance fast-fill hydraulic intensifier from Trillium CNG™, a business unit of Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG). The station can accommodate up to 30 tractor-trailers but can be expanded to serve an additional 30 vehicles as the SUPERVALU natural gas fleet grows.

It's the first of two compressed natural gas stations Trillium is building in the Richmond, Va., area. The second station under construction is GRTC Transit System, a private station, which is expected to be operational in 3 - 4 months. By the end of the second quarter 2014, Trillium CNG will be operating 81 CNG stations nationally, with 54 of them having public access.

Trillium built the CNG station at SUPERVALU in exchange for a 10-year fuel purchase agreement. "Trillium's business model is flexible, to meet a range of customer needs," said Mary Boettcher, president, Trillium CNG. "The agreement allows SUPERVALU to spend its capital on converting its fleet to natural gas, not infrastructure."

"Expanding our fleet to include compressed natural gas tractors is a win-win for our company," said Mike Lech, vice president of logistics for SUPERVALU's Eastern Region. "Not only are we strengthening the environment by lowering our emissions and reducing fuel consumption, we are also lowering operating costs for our business. We're proud to work with great partners like Trillium CNG to make this cutting edge technology a reality for our fleet."
