First Podcast Discovery Engine, MarketingPodcasts.com, Launches to Deliver the Best Marketing-Related Content

BLOOMINGTON, IN--(Marketwired - November 20, 2014) - Podcasts are in the midst of a renaissance. A recent Edison Research survey found a 25 percent increase in the number of people who listened to podcasts. As more shows are added to the 250,000+ existing podcasts, it's becoming increasingly harder for listeners to find the shows most relevant to their interests. Until now, that is -- at least for marketers. MarketingPodcasts.com recently launched as the first and only search and discovery engine for marketing-related podcasts.

Founded by Jay Baer, the New York Times best-selling author of Youtility, who is a successful podcaster and avid listener himself, MarketingPodcasts.com is the answer to the lack of an efficient and effective way to find fresh and relevant content among the thousands of podcasts already on iTunes. Annoyed by the void, Baer decided to come up with the solution.

"I decided to build MarketingPodcasts.com because I was frustrated by how difficult it was to find good marketing podcasts other than through word-of-mouth recommendations from friends and colleagues," explained Baer. "I host two podcasts, Social Pros and Jay Today, but finding other podcasts I could enjoy was maddening because iTunes is a hot mess in that regard."

MarketingPodcasts.com launched with more than 450 different podcasts in its database and assigns an Audience Approval Rating to each one. The Audience Approval Rating calculates the percentage of 5-star iTunes ratings to deliver a fair way of accessing how popular a podcast is to help visitors discover quality content and save them the time usually spent mining through underwhelming podcasts. MarketingPodcasts.com also has a dedicated editorial review team that rates podcasts on a 10-point scale and offers in-depth analysis of content, personnel and production.

"If you already listen to podcasts, you have your go-to shows, but with such a vast number of podcasts to choose from, what you listen to already is really only the tip of the iceberg," said Baer. "This site is a game changer because current listeners can now find great, new shows and those who don't already listen to podcasts can be encouraged to listen knowing they'll easily find the content that matches their interests."
