First Thursdays Art Walk - Experience This Top-Rated Art Event on March 3, 2011, 6 to 9 pm

LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - February 22, 2011) - First Thursdays Art Walk is a great way to introduce yourself to Laguna Beach's cultural art scene. Your next opportunity to experience this energetic and top-rated Yelp! event is on March 3rd. Saunter up and down the streets of Laguna Beach on a self-guided tour of gallery openings while enjoying artist demonstrations and receptions, live music and refreshments. There is no beginning or ending point, move around town at your own pace. Yelper NANCY K. of Orange, California said, "The streets are alive with hundreds of people walking up and down PCH. It's a good event for families, singles and dates. Everyone is in good spirits and it's a good social scene."

The event is FREE to the public and so is the trolley service. At any gallery or on the trolley pick up an Art Walk brochure that includes a map and featuring all the evening's special events. Suggested first stop is a 5 p.m. pre-event and artist reception at City Hall located at 505 Forest Avenue for the exhibit "Art Squared" -- original art created by Laguna Beach community leaders taught by Laguna Outreach for Community Arts instructors.

Throughout the evening artists are on hand at many galleries to demonstrate and/or discus his or her artwork. Ask questions and engage the artists. A few participating include: Jan Magdaleno will showcase the Art of Drawing at The Esther Wells Collection; Kevin Davidson at Laguna North Gallery; and resident artists at Studio 7.

Visit all the featured galleries from Downtown to Gallery Row to Bluebird to Laguna Canyon Road, enhanced by performances by local musicians and gallery hospitality. Enjoy a special performance by Blue Ritual and the paintings of Leslie Montana at [seven-degrees] and check out the music, refreshments and the contemporary artwork of Andy Anh, Shea Guevara and Kristen Neveuat at SKYLAB Modern Art. At Studio Arts Gallery, listen to the music of Sasha Evans and Douglas Miller and at The Cottage Gallery enjoy the magical sounds of singer/songwriter Sam Curos. Be sure to visit the Laguna Art Museum featuring Brad Coleman: Reproductions, and at the Laguna College of Art and Design explore the amazing game art exhibition.

Participating Art Walk galleries give you access to buy original artwork of every genre of art.
