First Thursdays Art Walk -- Gallery Openings, Dance and the Premiere of Art Documentary in Laguna Beach -- All Free! October 7, 2010, 6 to 9 pm

LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - September 27, 2010) -  A jam-packed First Thursday Art Walk in Laguna Beach is planned for October 7th. Not only will it feature the self-guided tour of gallery openings around the town, artist demonstrations and receptions, but also this month Art Walk has dance (courtesy of the Laguna Dance Festival) and a City art documentary premiere. There is no beginning or ending point of Art Walk, move around town at your own pace. The event is FREE to the public and so is the trolley service. "This past year the Art Walk board has focused on ways to expand its collaboration with other organizations to create an active culture experience for our patrons," said First Thursdays Art Walk president Rebecca Barber.

Condensed Listing of Special Event Schedule and Gallery Locations:
5-6 pm at [seven-degrees]: Premiere of "Eye View - the Laguna Beach Art Collection (Part II)" presented by the City of Laguna. This documentary film is about six Laguna Beach artists and their inspiration in creating public art pieces for the city.

6:15 pm at Salt Fine Art: Dance: "Inquiry" - Watch two curiosities that are noticeably different from what is generally found or experienced.

6:15 pm at Marion Meyer Contemporary Art: Dance: "Aria" - A trio of movement danced to the music of J.S. Bach.

6:50 pm at Dawson Cole Fine
: Dance: "Aria" - A trio of movement danced to the music of J.S. Bach Dusted Coil."

7 pm at Dawson Cole Fine
: Dance: "The Dusted Coil" - DTM2 Improvisation Ensemble.

7:30pm at [seven-degrees]:
Dance: "Streams" - The PGK Project.

At any gallery pick up an Art Walk brochure that includes a map and a complete schedule of the evening's special events. See artists in action and watch their creative process when visiting them at many galleries demonstrating their techniques and sharing their insights. Ask questions and engage the artists. The following are a few participating: Annette Wimmer at Annette Wimmer Fine Art; Storm Case at Laguna North Gallery; and many resident plein air artists at Studio 7.

Visit all the featured galleries from Downtown to Gallery Row to Bluebird to Laguna Canyon Road, enhanced with performances by local musicians and gallery hospitality. Enjoy music and martinis at SKYLAB Modern Art and wine tasting at Townley Gallery. At The Cottage Gallery and Vintage Poster celebrate artist's visions of Halloween.
