FIRSTLAND Energy Limited Exploration Update

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 8, 2006) - FIRSTLAND Energy Limited (TSX VENTURE:FLD) has entered into a farmout agreement covering approximately 8,000 acres (12.5 sections) of Company lands in the Cornwall (Puskwa) area of northwest Alberta. An industry Partner has committed to drill a 3,100 meter Pre Cambrian test on the lands to earn an interest in 2,560 acres (4 sections) and will have an option to drill up to 2 additional wells to earn in the balance of the lands. The well is scheduled to spud by September 30, 2006.

Also, during the Second Quarter of 2006, three deeper exploratory tests were drilled and cased on Company lands in the Brazeau and Simonette areas. At Brazeau, in west central Alberta, two 2,800 meter wells were drilled on 6,400 acres (10 sections) of Company land. At Simonette, in northwest Alberta, a 2,300 meter test was drilled and cased on 4,480 acres (7 sections) of Company land. All three of the wells are expected to be completed over the next few months.
