Firstlogic Debuts Graphical Data Quality Results View in IQ Insight® 3.2

IQ Insight® 3.2 Provides New Capabilities to Improve Business -- IT User Collaboration

LA CROSSE, WI -- (MARKET WIRE) -- October 18, 2005 -- Firstlogic, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise data quality solutions, today announced IQ Insight® 3.2, the latest release of Firstlogic's data profiling and assessment solution for analyzing, monitoring and reporting the quality of data. The new release is designed to include more features for collaboration across an organization and to provide further integrated communication between data profiling and data quality projects. IQ Insight 3.2 includes additional graphical reporting capabilities that provide a visual depiction of relationships between data, plus enhanced frequency distribution capabilities to streamline the development of data cleansing business rules.

Business and IT professionals benefit from collaborating to solve data quality issues for a project, company unit, or across the enterprise. One of the challenges hindering those cooperative data projects is duplicate information. IQ Insight 3.2 enhances existing redundancy profiling to allow users to compare data from multiple sources with different data types, determine common attributes, and identify outliers. With IQ Insight 3.2, graphical representation of all results is possible via new Venn diagrams. This visual helps both the assessment user and the cleansing user to organize results graphically, plus inspect the data further. Through the IQ Insight Venn diagrams, users can interactively drill down to intersections, exceptions and original source records. Data from IQ Insight Venn diagrams can be saved and accessed directly as external tables by Firstlogic's IQ8 enterprise data quality system.

IQ Insight 3.2 also provides an enhanced frequency distribution test offering word-level analysis. This allows users performing data assessment and data cleansing to analyze word counts and use the frequency results to quickly develop business rules for cleansing. These results can then be leveraged in IQ8 standardization functions within the database or across the enterprise.

"Organizations create project teams that span divisions or encompass the entire enterprise in order to solve common business challenges. Teams communicate and collaborate best when they have clear, accessible information," said Anita Wood, Firstlogic product manager for data profiling and assessment. "With the enhanced capabilities of IQ Insight 3.2, users can more easily discover patterns, gaps and inconsistencies in data, plus leverage those findings in their IQ8 data cleansing processes to make corrections that provide real benefits for the business."
