Fiserv's Houston Data Center Picks Proactive TriGeo Security Information Management

POST FALLS, ID -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 25, 2006 -- TriGeo Network Security (, the pioneer and leader of Automated Remediation through Intelligent Correlation™, today announced Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV), a leading provider of information management solutions for the financial industry, is its newest customer.

Fiserv will use the TriGeo Security Information Manager (SIM) in its Houston, Texas, data center to automatically identify, notify and respond to network attacks, suspicious behavior and policy violations. TriGeo will actively defend the Houston facility's network by correlating the data from hundreds of disparate network products (such as firewalls, routers, switches, servers, workstations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, etc.) and activating TriGeo's proprietary automated remediation.

"The biggest thing we liked about TriGeo SIM was its proactive technology," said Robert Martin, vice president -- southwest region security officer for Fiserv. "We believe the active response technology will provide Fiserv's Houston data center with measurable ROI." TriGeo will drastically improve the way the Houston facility reviews, monitors and responds to the millions of events contained in device logs. "TriGeo dramatically reduced the time we spend reviewing log files -- now, we spend less than 5 minutes a day. TriGeo keeps us in touch with important security issues as they occur."

Key factors in the decision to select TriGeo were ease of deployment, regulatory compliance and affordability. Martin noted that TriGeo will be instrumental in helping Fiserv's Houston data center protect highly sensitive data, comply with mounting regulations, and address auditors' requests to see how log data is managed, what responses were taken to suspicious activity or security breaches, and how the institution controls and monitors data access.

Martin added that the network staff, in addition to the security team, will use the TriGeo SIM for its real-time monitoring of network devices. "TriGeo is not only a security tool, but it also helps with day-to-day operations. Since TriGeo is real-time, our network staff can see networking errors as they occur. TriGeo will help clean up network traffic and keep it running smoothly and efficiently."
