Fish & Richardson Named Top Intellectual Property Counsel for America's Biggest Companies

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 21, 2007) - Fish & Richardson P.C. has been named the top intellectual property (IP) law firm in the country in Corporate Counsel Magazine's sixth annual survey of "Who Represents America's Biggest Companies."

For the 2007 survey, Corporate Counsel combed through state and federal records to see which law firms Fortune 250 corporations used the most in four key areas: commercial law and contracts litigation, corporate transactions, employment and labor litigation, and IP litigation and patent prosecution. Fish & Richardson took the top spot for IP litigation and patent prosecution.

"This is a prestigious survey because it looks at the best of the best law firms that the largest corporations turn to for their most important work," said Peter J. Devlin, President of Fish & Richardson. "We've built our reputation as the premier firm for high profile, high-stakes patent litigation and prosecution, so it's very gratifying to see that reflected in this survey."

Founded in 1878, Fish & Richardson is one of the largest law firms in the U.S. practicing exclusively in the areas of intellectual property, litigation, and corporate law. The firm has over 420 attorneys and technology specialists in 10 offices nationwide. Fish & Richardson has long represented great innovators and entrepreneurs, including pioneering inventors such as Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers. Fish & Richardson handles more patent litigation than any other law firm in the U.S. (IP Law & Business July 2007) and was rated among the top firms in ITC patent litigation by that publication in June 2007. It also rates among the top U.S. firms in patents and trademarks obtained.
